High school football is truly one of the great sporting events in the country. While it’s a place for prospects to carve out their path to college and beyond, it’s also a learning ground for many people who may or may never play at a higher level.

Regardless of your connection to high school football, state title games are always especially memorable events. And one particular game starts with a wild endeavor, to say the least.

Porter Ellett, an assistant coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, shared a recent video of a state title game that he says his nephew was playing in. That specific game does not involve the use of a coin toss to determine the opening possession of the game.

Instead, a helicopter is used to drop a football from above near the 50-yard line. A singular captain from each team awaits, and a wrestling match over the football ensues.

The bottom line? Whichever captain emerges with the football wins the “coin toss.”

If that sounds wild, it looks even crazier in action. Check it out:

To little surprise, it did not take long for that video to make its way across social media, sweeping up fans into the wild setting. Many found the idea incredible with a desire to see something similar in other games.
