Lee Corso and the College GameDay crew are in Columbus, Ohio, for the College Football Playoff elimination game between No. 7 Michigan State and No. 2 Ohio State.

Corso visited with Kirk Herbstreit Saturday morning prior to ESPN’s pregame show starting, and Corso said the Buckeyes were the No. 2 team in the nation behind Georgia.

He then named the national title game he wants to see the most.

“Ohio State is the real deal and No. 2 in the nation,” Corso said. “Not very far behind Georgia. That’s my opinion. In fact, the classic game would be Georgia versus Ohio State in the championship game.”

Herbstreit then replied to Corso,” Can you imagine Ohio State’s offense versus that Georgia defense?”

“Those wideouts,” Corso said. “They can beat anybody.”

Corso went on to say that Ohio State won’t have any problem with Michigan State Saturday.

The current No. 4 Buckeyes against the No. 1 Bulldogs in the national title would certainly be appealing. First of all, it’s 2 powerhouse college football brands, and it pits the nation’s top offense (OSU) against the nation’s top defense (UGA).

Of course, in order for that to happen, Ohio State would have to be ranked No. 2 or No. 3 during the final selection committee rankings. Plenty of time remains for that to happen, and certain things would have to happen.
