On the back of an impressive performance against the Mustangs, the Nittany Lions are heavy favorites to defeat the Broncos with the spread at -10.5. Meanwhile, the over-under has been set at 54.5. Of course, with 10 days until the 2 teams meet, the line could move and is subject to do so all the way until kickoff.
The Broncos, who feature Heisman finalist Ashton Jeanty at running back, will at least have the benefit of rest. They went 12-1 en route to a Mountain West title, with their last game coming on Dec. 6.
As far as the history between the two programs, there is none: they have never met on the football field. The winner will advance to the semifinal at either the Orange Bowl or Cotton Bowl on Jan. 9 or 10. The national championship game is set for Jan. 20 in Atlanta.
