Report: Dak Prescott's father, Nathaniel, arrested for marijuana possession

More and more states are starting to decriminalize marijuana, but that apparently isn’t the case in Texas yet.

Over the weekend, it was reported that Nathaniel Prescott, the father of former Mississippi State and current Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, was arrested on marijuana charges.

Per reporter Peter Eliopoulos of KFDM News, Prescott was stopped by police, who then discovered marijuana in his vehicle:

BREAKING: Texas DPS arrests father of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott on marijuana charges. 57-year-old Nathaniel Prescott was stopped on Highway 87 in Orange County on Saturday afternoon. Troopers say they discovered marijuana. He posted $500 bond and was released.

Breaking: Nathaniel Prescott — father of #Cowboys QB Dak Prescott — was arrested over the weekend in Orange County, TX after driving on HWY 87. He was arrested after marijuana was discovered (less than 2 grams). Was booked on Saturday afternoon, and released on $500 bond, Sunday.

Prescott is already out on bond, and the charge was only a class B misdemeanor. Still, marijuana is illegal in the state of Texas.

According to the report, the marijuana was discovered in the driver’s-side door of Prescott’s vehicle.
