Wisconsin lost 24-7 to Minnesota on Saturday to end the season 5-7. The Badgers trailed 14-0 at halftime and finished with just 166 yards of offense.

Elsewhere, Oklahoma State got flattened by Colorado in what was the worst loss of the Mike Gundy era. The Buffaloes forced 4 turnovers, threw for 438 yards, and won 52-0.

For Oklahoma State, the loss ensured a winless year in the Big 12. The Cowboys finished 3-9 on the season and 0-9 in league play. As a result, their streak of 18 consecutive bowl games was officially snapped. The Cowboys hadn’t missed a bowl game since 2005, Mike Gundy’s first year in charge.

Wisconsin’s streak was even longer. At 5-7, the Badgers will miss a bowl game for the first time since 2001. Wisconsin had gone 22 consecutive seasons without posting a losing record.

Entering the year, both programs had 2 of the 6 longest active bowl streaks in the FBS.

(A third nearly saw its bowl streak end, but a win over Alabama last weekend in Norman confirmed Oklahoma’s 25-year streak will live on.)

With those streaks coming to an end, Iowa and Ohio State will move into a tie for the fifth-longest active bowl streak.
