After leaving the game in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans with a sprained AC joint, Indianapolis Colts’ head coach Shane Steichen gave an update on quarterback Anthony Richardson.

Steichen said Richardson will miss some time, but his timeline is unclear. He also said that he is unsure if Richardson will undergo surgery or be placed on injury reserves. Gardner Minshew will be the starting quarterback for the Colts’ in the meantime.

Richardson has had a solid start to his NFL career, but his rookie season has been derailed with injuries. He missed part of his NFL debut after taking a hit to the knee, but was able to return in Week 2. But he then suffered a concussion in Week 2, forcing him to miss the rest of that game as well as the Colts’ Week 3 game.

In total this season, he has played just 12 of 20 possible quarters, but he has been good when he is on the field, recording 577 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.
