National Signing Day is off to a strong start for Dan Mullen’s Florida Gators. UF commitments Diwun Black and Arjei Henderson have already sent in their LOIs, but the biggest news of the day so far comes out of Cardinal Gibbons in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. where 4-star pass-rusher Khris Bogle announced he was flipping his pledge from Alabama to Florida. Nearby Miami was also a final contender.

Bogle made his big announcement just before 8:30 a.m. ET. He told Adam Lichtenstein of the Sun Sentinel that he made his final decision only hours before the announcement.

“I prayed last night. I barely slept. I cried,” Bogle told Lichtenstein. “I was up at 3 o’clock this morning, just thinking about it. And God just said, ‘You’re going to Florida.’”

Bogle confirmed to Lichtenstein that it was Alabama defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi’s departure to the Cleveland Browns that opened up his recruitment. After announcing a commitment to Alabama at the All-American Bowl on Jan. 5, Bogle took official visits to two in-state schools: Florida and Miami.

“Both schools pushed real hard,” Bogle said Wednesday. “I took my official visit to both schools at the end, and it was a 50-50 chance between each school. And I just prayed.”

The Florida visit ultimately won him over.

“I just believe in Coach Mullen and what we have to get done at Florida now,” Bogle said. “When I went up there for my official visit, I enjoyed it. It was an unbelievable experience. And I just believe in him.”
