Florida basketball has confirmed that star player Colin Castleton is unable to play for the Gators on Saturday against Vanderbilt.

Jon Rothstein’s report comes as no surprise as UF head coach White called Castleton’s injury “significant” after he missed the Mississippi State game this week.

“I know it’s significant,” White told reporters, per Bob Redman of 247Sports. “I know he’s seeing the appropriate people maybe even as we speak here. he had no chance of playing tonight, and really unfortunate for Colin and his teammates. But his teammates rallied, and they got it done and they were connected and I’m really proud of these guys.”

Castleton is averaging 15.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.8 blocks per game this season. Florida, without Castleton, will look to extend its 2-game winning streak Saturday against Vanderbilt, which tips off at 1 p.m.
