Florida is coming off a big recruiting weekend, picking up four commitments over a three-day stretch (Saturday-Monday). Dan Mullen and his staff are hoping to do it again. This time one of the most sought-after recruits of the 2019 class will be on campus.

Oaks Christian (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) DE Kayvon Thibodeaux tweeted Tuesday that he will be in Gainesville this weekend. A 5-star recruit, Thibodeaux is rated the No. 2 player in the class of 2019 on the 247Sports Composite.

In November, Thibodeaux tweeted plans to visit UF for the Florida-South Carolina game, but he had to scrap those plans due to his game being rescheduled.

Landing Thibodeaux, who measures 6-4, 239 pounds, would be a huge boost to Florida’s ’19 recruiting class. The Gators currently have 18 players committed for a class with Composite rankings of No. 9 in the SEC and No. 19 nationally.

Mullen and his staff appear to be facing an uphill battle. On 247Sports, Crystal Balls for Thibodeaux currently show Oregon leading with 74 percent of expert predictions, followed by USC (11 percent), Florida State (7 percent) and Alabama (4 percent). Thibodeaux visited Alabama, Florida State and Oregon during the season.

Last month, Thibodeaux tweeted that he would be announcing his commitment on Dec. 15. A graphic indicated that Alabama, Florida, Florida State and Oregon were his final four.
