Florida picked up its second commitment for the 2022 class on Friday with a pledge from Francois Nolton, a strong-side defensive end out of Miami (Edison).

Nolton is listed at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds and is rated the No. 12 SDE in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 28 player in the state of Florida.

Nolton has a reported 20 offers and announced his decision on social media. He thanked his family and coaches and said, “with that being said, I will be committing to the swamp and I’m rocking with the Florida Gators!”

Nolton told Swamp247 why he picked the Gators.

“I just like their tradition and the energy they play with,” Nolton said of Florida. “I like how they put a lot of players in the NFL and Coach Dan Mullen seems like a players coach. Every time I see him on Twitter he is always dancing and has his family with him at games. It just seems like a family atmosphere and I really like that. Florida is a good team, a really good team. I’ve watched a few of their games. I watched their game against Miami, because I grew up a big Miami fan. I was watching that game and their defense was playing real good, even though I didn’t like them sacking our quarterback, but they showed the DL is playing good. I went to the Orange Bowl and saw them against Virginia and I watched their game against LSU (last year). Their defense is really good, fast, and they play with swagger.”
