Florida landed a big commitment for its 2022 recruiting class with a pledge from Tony Livingston out of Tampa, Florida (Carrollwood Day).

Livingston, a two-sport athlete, is the No. 19 ranked offensive tackle in the class in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 18 player in the state of Florida, and Livingston made the announcement on social media after he’s received a reported 33 offers. He is listed at 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds. Livingston is the fourth and highest-rated commitment for the Gators’ class to date.

One of the deciding factors could be the opportunity to play basketball. Livingston reportedly learned that the Gators recently offered Livingston a chance to play basketball as a preferred walk on as well as a scholarship player in football, 247Sports reported.

His scouting report from 247Sports described him this way:

“Owns an athletic, naturally wide frame. Appears to have some length in the arms. On the leaner side for a future offensive lineman, but should be able to pack on the right weight at the next level. One of the more unique prospects in the Sunshine State for the 2022 cycle given athletic background. A gifted basketball player that used to carry the ball up the court before eventually getting more looks in the post as his body started to mature. Initially started high school football career off as a jumbo wide receiver before quickly transitioning to tight end.”
