It should come as no surprise that many of the nation’s top high school tight ends are giving Florida a long look. After all, Kyle Pitts just finished the 2020 season No. 10 in the Heisman voting after a stellar performance.

On Tuesday, Florida coach Dan Mullen picked up a commitment from perhaps the next great Gator tight end.

As you can see below, 4-star 2023 tight end Mac Markway — a native of St. Louis, Missouri — announced via Twitter that he was committing to Mullen’s program:

Markway’s cousin, Kyle, was also a St. Louis native who played in the SEC East. Kyle played at South Carolina. He went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft and has spent time on the roster of the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, and now, the Los Angeles Rams. He has yet to record any NFL stats.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Markway is the No. 4 tight end in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 3 overall recruit from the state of Missouri.

Markway is the first player in Florida’s 2023 recruiting class. With Markway on board, Florida’s class ranks No. 8 in the nation and No. 3 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
