After being passed over in Starkville following his interview to be considered as Dan Mullen’s replacement at Mississippi State, defensive coordinator Todd Grantham landed a nice consolation prize — he’s now the highest paid assistant in Florida history.

Florida released the salary information for Mullen’s first Florida staff on Monday with Grantham listed as the top earner among all assistants on the staff. Co-offensive coordinators Billy Gonzales and John Hevesy will earn the same pay ($565,000) with DL coach Sal Sunseri also earning that amount.

The two former Volunteer assistants on staff, Charlton Warren and Larry Scott, are both still being paid by Tennessee. They will each receive a pay raise in 2019 when Tennessee no longer has to offset the money being paid to them by Florida.
