Former Florida TE DeAndre Goolsby lands with AFC South squad
Former Florida TE DeAndre Goolsby waited all seven rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft, but didn’t hear his name called.
He quickly landed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent, but the Lions let him go back in May. Now, just in time for the preseason, he’s landed on his feet once again.
According to AP reporter Mark Long, Goolsby is the newest member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that made it to the AFC Championship Game last season:
Jaguars have signed undrafted rookie and former Gators TE DeAndre Goolsby. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars waived LS Andrew East.

Goolsby recorded 68 catches for 724 yards and five touchdowns in three seasons with the Gators. The Jaguars have Austin Sefarian-Jenkins and Niles Paul as their starting tight ends, but a big preseason could help him catch on with the team.
Being with the home-state Jaguars may end up serving as a bit of extra motivation for Goolsby, too.
