Get ready to see Treon Harris at wide receiver.

Florida coach Jim McElwain confirmed that Harris, a former quarterback, will see time at wide receiver when the coach addressed the topic with ESPN’s Ivan Maisel in a podcast.

The development doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Gators’ play dropped off after Will Grier was suspended when he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. They started 6-0 under Grier but finished 10-4 overall, with Harris closing the year completing 119 of 235 passes for 1,676 yards with nine touchdowns and six interceptions.

Luke Del Rio had a strong spring behind center, and he’s a favorite to win the starting job.
