Kingsley Eguakun has been a longtime starter for Florida’s offensive line as the center for the Gators since the start of the 2021 season. Sunday evening, he revealed a statement on his playing future.

Despite missing a big chunk of the 2023 season with an injury, Eguakun is declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. He made 4 starts this season after starting all 26 games across the 2021-22 seasons for Florida.

“My time at the University of Florida has been nothing short of amazing! Although this season didn’t go as planned, I’m blessed to call myself a Gator Alumnus and will cherish the memories I’ve made forever,” Eguakun wrote on social media. “Gator Nation is second to none and it’s been an honor sporting the orange and blue, I’m forever grateful!”

He went on to acknowledge former head coach Dan Mullen and current head coach Billy Napier for his career in Gainesville:

“Additionally I would like to thank both Coach Mullen and his staff for giving me the chance to be a Gator and Coach Napier and his staff for allowing me to continue on my journey,” wrote Eguakun. “Finally, I would like to give a huge shoutout to all of my teammates for sticking together through adversity we’ve been through! And helping me grow over the years along this journey!

“With that being said, I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.”
