Florida TE Kyle Pitts likely won’t be on the board very long when the 2021 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday night in Cleveland.

Pitts is almost a guarantee to be a top-10 pick, and will likely go in the top 5 picks. He’s getting a lot of buzz to the Atlanta Falcons at No. 4 overall.

Pitts is a Philadelphia native, but the Eagles don’t pick until No. 12 overall. He’s not likely to still be on the board then, but he said during an NFL Network interview this week that it would be special if he could suit up for his hometown team (via 247Sports):

“That would be special to get the chance to (get) back home just because people don’t get the opportunity to do that,” Pitts said. “Playing at the Linc, never played there, so to actually suit up and have my family there if I were to wear those (Eagles) jerseys — that would be something special. My grandfathers loved the Eagles, both of them. That would be crazy.”

The Eagles had the No. 6 overall pick before trading with the Miami Dolphins. It’s interesting to wonder if Pitts could have ended up with the Eagles if they’d kept that sixth selection.
