LOOK: Official Gators Twitter account ‘likes’ idea of Spurrier replacing OC Nussmeier

Since Florida’s 33-17 loss to Michigan on Saturday, there has been a lot of talk about changes in play calling and the status of offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier.
The Gators registered just nine first downs, were 2-for-13 on third down conversions, and had just 11 rushing yards with three turnovers.
Coach Jim McElwain addressed many of those issues on Monday in a press conference with reporters where he announced Feleipe Franks would remain the starting quarterback. But the issue escalated Monday afternoon when the official Florida Gators Twitter account “liked” a suggestion that Nussmeier be replaced by former coach Steve Spurrier from an account called “Fire Nuss.”
The Gators had just announced that they would honor Spurrier first calling Ben Hill Griffin Stadium “The Swamp.” The program will sell cups and T-shirts to honor the 25th anniversary.
The announcement led to this tweet from a fan:
That tweet was soon “liked” by the official Florida Gators account in response.
The account later cleared up what happened with this tweet:
