Florida’s front seven depth may soon be taking a hit as redshirt freshman Malik Langham has reportedly entered his name into the NCAA’s transfer database.

The Huntsville, Ala. native signed with Florida over Alabama and Auburn in the 2018 recruiting cycle and redshirted during his first season in Gainesville. Langham made two appearances for the Gators last season, participating against Charleston Southern and Idaho in 2018. Langham was rated as a four-star prospect and a top 350 recruit nationally coming out of Lee High School in Huntsville.

Florida finished up spring practice over the weekend and according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, it hasn’t taken Langham long to enter his name into the NCAA’s transfer database following the conclusion of spring practice in Gainesville as the defensive end/outside linebacker is currently listed in the portal.

Of course, it should be noted that being listed in the NCAA transfer portal does not indicate a player is officially leaving a school, however, it is the first step in the process of doing so. Rival schools now have the opportunity to recruit Langham to their school without violating NCAA tampering rules.

If Langham does leave Florida, he would likely have to sit out the 2019 season due to NCAA transfer rules — unless the NCAA grants Langham a waiver to play immediately next season.
