Miami AD shares strong message with fanbase: '243 days until we beat the Gators'
The Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes are two teams that are currently on very different trajectories.
The Gators just finished off a 10-win season in Dan Mullen’s first year at the helm of the program, while the Hurricanes just watched as head coach Mark Richt retired after a 35-3 Pinstripe Bowl loss to a Wisconsin team that was starting a backup quarterback.
Still, after Miami AD Blake James hired former Miami DC Manny Diaz to replace Richt (after Diaz had just started as Temple’s head coach), he took a shot at the Gators — Miami’s Week 1 opponent next fall:

The Gators will likely be favored in next year’s matchup, as they just thumped Michigan in the Peach Bowl and have a lot of key players coming back.
Plus, now they have some bulletin-board material thanks to the Miami AD.
I’m sure there’s absolutely a 0% chance of that statement being used in the Gator locker room as motivation.
Is he trying to out clown the AD at UCF?
That’s a tall order. UCF AD Danny White is the most despicable person in the sport, in my book. LSU has to beat those idiots, or he’ll ignore the fact that the playoffs produced a 15-0 National champion, and declare that his team repeated this season.

Well he has the right to talk trash. Just look at everything that athletic department has accomplished in the last few years. They have… a turnover chain, some embarrassing losses, a comeback victory over a terrible FSU team, a turnover chain. They can recruit prospects and teach them a convincing swagger-y prison yard strut. That’s pretty cool. Da U nah mean?!
Talk is cheap, you dumb*ss Blake. You just finished mishandling everything you touched and now you’re running your mouth off. We will just keep our mouths shut and work our butts off to get better. This is going to be good.
