Florida and Georgia will meet for the 98th time on Saturday in Jacksonville, with the Gators looking for a big win to take over the SEC East lead and the Bulldogs hoping to extend their winning streak over their rival to 4 games while stretching their advantage in the division.

One person who will be making the trip from Gainesville is Steve Spurrier, the legendary head coach who led Florida to a national championship and guided South Carolina to 3 straight 11-win seasons. And Spurrier had overwhelming success when coaching against Georgia, going 11-1 during his tenure at his alma mater.

The former Gators quarterback—and a Heisman Trophy winner in 1966—appeared on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Tuesday to discuss a variety of subjects, including the Florida-Georgia game, while touching on the success Florida’s current signal-caller has had over the past 2 seasons.

“Kyle Trask should be a guy in the Heisman talk,” Spurrier said. “He’s really developed from a kid who didn’t start in high school. He’s what gives the Gators a chance.”

Spurrier pointed out what has been an almost mistake-free year for Trask, who has thrown 18 touchdowns versus just 2 interceptions. The Gators will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday.
