Florida Edge Princely Umanmielen announced Wednesday afternoon that he will enter the transfer portal after 4 seasons in Gainesville.

Umanmielen’s loss is a big one for the Gators. The veteran pass rusher started all 12 games for the Gators this season, finishing with 7 sacks, 11.5 tackles for loss, 17 QB hurries and 39 tackles. He assisted on a sack for a safety against Florida State.

Here’s Umanmielen’s post thanking Florida fans and announcing his plans to enter the portal.

Umanmielen is the 10th Gators to announce his entry into the portal after the end of the season, joining players such as QB Max Brown, TE Jonathan Odom and WR Caleb Douglas.

There were a few options for Umanmielen this offseason. He could have entered the NFL Draft and been a high-end pick, but he’s looking to improve his stock even further elsewhere in 2024. Expect Umanmielen to end up on a championship contending program.
