Trent Whittemore’s time on the Florida football team has come to an end. The veteran wide receiver announced Monday that he has entered the NCAA transfer portal as a graduate transfer.

Whittemore thanked the last 3 UF coaches – Jim McElwain, Dan Mullen and Billy Napier – for his time with the Gators. A Gainesville native and Bucholz grad, Whittemore joined the program in 2019.

Last season, Whittemore played in 11 games, recording 19 receptions for 210 yards and a touchdown, also throwing 2 TDs. This season, Whittemore has appeared in 7 of Florida’s 10 games, logging 4 catches for 87 yards.

Whittemore was recognized as part of UF’s Senior Day festivities in the home finale against South Carolina.

In his UF career, Whittemore made 29 appearances, posting 33 catches for 425 yards and 2 TDs. Whittemore will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Last month, Creed Whittemore, Trent’s younger brother, flipped his commitment from Florida to Mississippi State.
