Florida State is losing freshman quarterback Luke Kromenhoek to the transfer portal, according to a report from On3sports.

The former star at Benedictine Military School in Georgia was a prominent member of FSU’s 2024 class. He was a 4-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, the 59th-ranked player nationally, the 5th-ranked quarterback and the 9th-ranked player from the state of Georgia.

Kromenhoek appeared in 6 games as a reserve for the Seminoles this season, completing 44 of 84 passes for 502 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He played behind DJ Uiagalelei and Brock Glenn this season, which was a nightmare as the Seminoles struggled to a 2-10 record after starting the season ranked.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder will have 3 years of eligibility remaining at his next school, wherever that is in 2025. Considering the massive upheaval for FSU’s staff, the move is not surprising but is a blow moving forward.

Kromenhoek signed with FSU after accounting for nearly 7,000 yards and 73 touchdowns during his 3 standout seasons at Benedictine. As a high school senior in 2023, he threw for 2,578 yards with 24 touchdowns and added 588 yards and 7 scores on the ground.

Kromenhoek chose the Seminoles over offers from Oklahoma, Tennessee and others. Now, he’s reportedly on the move.
