Christian Wright has found his new home. The former Georgia guard announced his transfer commitment to Oregon State on Wednesday.

Wright shared the news on his Twitter account:

An Alpharetta native, Wright spent one season at UGA. In 2021-22, he was one of three Bulldogs – along with Jabri Abdur-Rahim and Braelen Bridges – to see action in all 32 games. Wright made 11 starts, including in the final 5 games. He finished second on Tom Crean’s squad in assists, averaging 2.0 per game (2.4 in conference play) while also contributing 5.3 points and 2.2 rebounds over 22.0 minutes of playing time per appearance.

Other highlights from Wright’s Georgia bio:

• Logged 21 minutes of action in an exhibition at Charlotte, scoring five points and collecting three rebounds.
• Recorded an impressive “+/-” tally in the season opener, a “+15” effort in 19 minutes.
• Started the second half against Northwestern and scored seven of his nine points on the night while logging 19 minutes during the period.
• Earned his first career start against Wofford and dished out a team-high five assists.
• With Aaron Cook out due to illness, started at point guard against No. 18 Memphis and delivered career highs of 17 points, six rebounds and 38 minutes. Equally impressive, committed just one turnover against the Tigers, who entered the game forcing 18 TOs per game.
• With Kario Oquendo out due to a lower-body injury, started and scored a game-high 16 points at No. 2 Auburn.
• Followed his performance on The Plains with a 10-point showing at South Carolina, where he scored every point at the line by converting on 10-of-12 free throw attempts.
• In his three double-figure scoring games against No. 18 Memphis, No. 2 Auburn and South Carolina, scored 55.8 percent of his points (24-of-43) while connecting on 85.7 percent of his trips to the line (24-of-28). All told, Wright drew 22 fouls in those contests while committing only four fouls himself.

It has been a busy offseason in the college basketball transfer portal, particularly at programs like Georgia that made head coaching changes.
