Well, you don’t see this happen too often.

Usually, when players enter the NCAA transfer portal, they end up leaving their current school. However, former Georgia quarterback D’Wan Mathis did the opposite.

The current Temple quarterback Mathis was set to enter the NCAA transfer portal a week ago; however, he announced that he had pulled a reversal and will now return to Temple for the 2022 season.

Yes, he released a hype video to announce that he would return to Temple for next season. “North Philly I’m back! Let’s do it!” Mathis wrote in the Tweet.

Mathis started 7 games for the Owls in 2021, leading to a 2-5 record. During 2021, Mathis has thrown for 1,223, 6 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions.

Mathis spent 2 seasons at Georgia before transferring to Temple. He threw for 89 yards, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions while at Georgia.

The 6-foot-6, 205-pound Belleville, Michigan, native was rated the No. 11 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2019 when he signed with Georgia.
