Atlanta native Jaden Harris is coming home to Georgia. It was announced Tuesday that the Miami defensive back transfer is transferring to UGA to continue his career with the Bulldogs.

“He’s super excited, he said, ‘I feel like I’m coming back home,'” agent Bobby McRae told Marc Weiszer of the Athens-Banner Herald. “He’s excited, his mother is excited. He visited a couple of other schools, Penn State, and LSU was interested, Texas A&M. This is where he decided he wanted to be.”

Harris heads to Athens after 3 seasons in Coral Gables. He stepped into a starting role for Miami’s 2024 campaign, in which Mario Cristobal’s Hurricanes won 10 games.

As a starting safety, Harris recorded 40 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and 1 interception over 13 games.

Per Weiszer, McRae cited an NIL market value of $700,000-800,000 for a starting safety. He indicated Harris is taking less for the opportunity to play at Georgia.

There were schools that offered him a lot more, but he wanted to learn, he wanted to develop,” McRae said. “He felt Georgia was the best place. He’s the type of kid that doesn’t make everything about money.

Georgia also offers the opportunity to reunite with a familiar face. At UGA, Harris will be coached by Travaris Robinson. Robinson was on the Miami staff in 2022, Harris’ redshirt freshman season. He then coached at Alabama before joining the Georgia staff in 2024.
