Georgia received a massive commitment on Friday when it landed a verbal pledge from 4-star 2025 offensive lineman Juan Gaston.

One of the top prospects in the state and a product of Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake, Gaston selected the Bulldogs over Oregon, Tennessee, and South Carolina. He took official visits earlier this summer to each of the other 3 schools after visiting Athens, but the Bulldogs had been viewed as the favorites in his recruitment for quite some time prior to Friday’s announcement.

Gaston packs strength and a good bit of athleticism into a monster 6-foot-7, 345-pound frame. Not often do you see a man of his size squatting 500-plus pounds to depth, but Gaston is a mauler.

He’s a blue-chip recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. Overall, Gaston ranks No. 164 in the class. He’s the 16th-ranked offensive tackle and the 20th-ranked recruit from the state of Georgia.

Gaston was an All-Metro selection by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution last fall starting at left tackle for a Westlake side that went 9-3 in Georgia’s highest classification. He also plays basketball.

With Gaston’s pledge, Georgia is now up to 22 known commitments for the 2025 class. The group ranks third in the country, headlined by a pair of Composite 5-stars. Gaston is the fourth offensive lineman to publicly join the class, alongside Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview’s Cortez Smith, Evans (Ga.) High’s Mason Short, and Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes’ Dontrell Glover. All 4 of the Dawgs’ linemen are Composite 4-stars and top-300 recruits.
