With 2018 five-star quarterback Justin Fields signed and already enrolled on campus, Georgia has quickly moved on to finding the next elite signal caller eager to come play in Athens.

While it’s very early in the process, that prospect could very well be Sam Howell of Monroe, North Carolina. The 6-foot-1, 217-pound Howell is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 5 pro-style passer in the nation for 2019 by 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Dawgs may have just offered him but the North Carolina native already holds offers from Clemson, Ohio State, Arkansas, Tennessee and West Virginia, among many others.

For his junior season, Howell threw for 3,400 yards and 34 touchdowns and rushed for another 1,600 yards and 24 scores.

Wednesday morning, Howell tweeted out news of his Georgia offer with some enthusiasm.

It remains to be seen if Howell will be Georgia’s top QB prospect for its next recruiting class but it appears early on that he will be a top priority for Kirby Smart and his staff. Check out one of his highlight reels, he has a massive arm that should suit him well at the next level.
