Georgia picks up commitment from 4-star 2020 DT Jalen Carter out of Florida
The Georgia Bulldogs have gotten off to a bit of a slow start in the 2020 recruiting cycle, at least compared to the insane standards they’ve set for themselves the past two years.
However, on Monday, coach Kirby Smart and his staff landed a big-time commitment from a 4-star defensive tackle out of Apopka, Florida.
As you can see below, Jalen Carter announced via Twitter that he was committing to the Bulldogs over Alabama and Clemson:

Per the 247Sports composite, Carter is the No. 10 defensive tackle in the class of 2020 and the No. 12 overall recruit from the state of Florida.
The Bulldogs now have 10 players in their 2020 class, which currently ranks No. 7 in the nation and No. 4 in the SEC, per 247Sports.

One at a time, Kirby is losing any excuse for continuing our current losing streak.
Coaching experience.
Kirby is doing a good job so far bringing in defensive linemen this class. With the expected losses across the DL after this coming season, we’ll need a strong class.
With Georgia losing several D-lineman after this season, recruiting at that position is a priority. Looks like that need is being well taken care of.
Welcome to UGA, Jalen. Can’t wait to see you in UGA Red & Black…
If there is a weakness on our team, it is our DL. It’s great to finally pull one from the Clemson target base.
Beast.
Go Dawgs! Defense wins championships!
Awesome–the Dawgs very much need some talent upgrading on the defensive line.
Sing to the tune of Another one bites the dust: Another one leaves the state……. Florida can only sit by and watch the best players in the Sunshine state pack their bags and head elsewhere.
The 2 best players from GA are playing at National Champions Clemson Tigers and OSU so your point? FL is twice the size of GA so they cant get them all. He can commit to the G and be disappointed like the rest of the dawgs. Dont hear you dawg lovers mention Clemson, they seem to have surpassed your FB dawgs thats for sure.
