Injured Georgia photographer Chamberlain Smith posts picture taken immediately before collision, Brian Herrien approves
Chamberlain Smith and Brian Herrien have developed a relationship they never imagined would come about this way.
The Georgia photographer with the athletics department and running back collided on the sideline near the goal line at Auburn on Saturday and Smith was knocked unconscious and taken to a local hospital before she was released that night.
“You’re the best, I knew it would be a good picture,” Herrien tweeted in response to Smith sharing it when she wrote, “I hope you LOVE this photo!!”
In the days since, Georgia fans and leadership, like coach Kirby Smart, have shared their support for Smith and mentioned that the UGA graduate is great at her job and she was anxious to get back to work as she recovers at home from a concussion.
It’s not yet known if Smith will return to the sidelines this week as the Bulldogs take on Texas A&M in Athens, or the regular season finale at Georgia Tech. But it’s clear she and those around the program are thankful that she’s OK following the scary incident.
Here’s Smith’s photo she shared on Twitter:
