Georgia fans reminded us why college football is so incredible.

Spring games aren’t supposed to draw 90,000-plus fans, but nonetheless, UGA fans answered Kirby Smart’s challenge of 93,000 fans packed into Sanford Stadium as he ushers in a new era.

Smart’s prized possession — five-star quarterback Jacob Eason — certainly didn’t disappoint. He finished a cool 19 of 29 for 244 yards with a touchdown, and he looked more poised than either Greyson Lambert or Brice Ramsey.

Obviously, Eason — or anyone for that matter — hasn’t done enough to win the starting job yet, and the competition will wage on during fall practice.

From the moment he stepped foot on the field, Eason had the crowd going wild, especially after his impressive pass to Riley Ridley. Following his performance, Eason thanked UGA fans on Twitter.

Eason, of course, came down to Georgia and Florida for his recruitment, but his heart won out. Now, he looks to be a staple for the next few years in Athens.

Will Eason start game one? There’s a long way to go, but after Saturday, it’s not too far of a stretch.
