Josh Brooks is enjoying loads of success as Georgia’s athletics director, and the school’s leaders are rewarding him.

Brooks on Thursday received a raise and contract extension that will take his agreement with the school to 6 years and $1.25 million, including a raise of $100,000 each year. The new terms begin on July 1.

Brooks was named AD in January 2021 after he served 11 years in supporting roles at Georgia, previously as Interim Director of Athletics and Senior Deputy Director of Athletics. At the time of his hiring, he was the youngest athletic director among the Power 5 conferences.

Along with the back-to-back national championships in football, Georgia enjoyed the 2021 national title in Equestrian, and 2021 SEC crown in women’s tennis. The Bulldogs finished 10th in the 2021 Learfield Directors’ Cup, and 19th in 2022.

More recently, Brooks this spring was named to a committee along with other SEC ADs Mitch Barnhart (UK) and Greg Byrne (Alabama) to address post-game spectator incursion on competition fields and courts.
