Georgia’s offense has been without some key players in 2021. And it appears the Bulldogs are going to continue to be shorthanded in their receiving corps for at least a bit longer.

During his Tuesday press conference, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart gave updates on injured wide receivers George Pickens and Dominick Blaylock. And while both are making progress, neither has rejoined the team while continuing to work their way back.

Smart said that Pickens (torn ACL) has “come a long way” and that orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews has been “very positive” about Pickens’ progress (h/t Connor Riley of DawgNation). Pickens has a meeting set up with Andrews in the “near future.”

Blaylock, who missed last season with a torn ACL and is now dealing with a hamstring injury, is “heading in the right direction,” per Smart. However, the hamstring has limited Blaylock’s ability to practice.

Until Pickens and Blaylock can return, Georgia’s offense may not reach its full potential. However, that hasn’t stopped the Bulldogs from having success, as they’re ranked No. 1 and have an 8-0 record heading into Saturday’s game against Missouri.

Georgia and Missouri are set to kick off on Saturday at noon ET on ESPN.
