Georgia and Ohio State delivered an exciting Peach Bowl that went down to the final seconds as Ohio State’s attempt at a game-winning field goal sailed wide left.
College football fans loved to see it, and they watched in big numbers, according to ESPN.
The game drew 22.1 million viewers, the most-watched primetime College Football Playoff Semifinal since Year 1, and was also a top 20 cable telecast all-time as it peaked at nearly 24 million viewers. It was the top non-NFL broadcast on a cable network since last year’s national championship game.
Combined with the Fiesta Bowl between TCU and Michigan, the semifinals delivered 21.7 million viewers, and became the most-viewed non-New Year’s Day semifinals of the CFP era. The audience was up 28% over 2021 numbers.
