Sanford Stadium looks a bit unfamiliar to football fans who are used to seeing green grass between the hedges.
Georgia, including Athens, is feeling some winter weather on Friday. It’s a snow day at Sanford Stadium. Photos on social media display the rare sight.

Georgia completed another undefeated season at Sanford Stadium in 2024, posting a 6-0 record in home contests. Fans got to see the Bulldogs take care of business against Tennessee Tech, Auburn, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Georgia Tech en route to a 10-2 regular season and 11-3 final record.
The last one did not come easy. UGA has not lost a game at home since Oct. 14, 2019 against South Carolina, but the Yellow Jackets came close to snapping the streak. The Bulldogs pulled it out in 8 overtimes, winning Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate in a 44-42 thriller.
UGA has not yet announced a date for the G-Day spring return to Sanford Stadium. In the fall, the 2025 home slate will kick off with Marshall on Aug. 30. The Dawgs are also set to host Alabama (Sept. 27), Kentucky (Oct. 4), Ole Miss (Oct. 18), Texas (Nov. 15) and Charlotte in 2025.
