Georgia freshman RB Zamir White went down with a non-contact injury during Saturday’s scrimmage, and according to the Athens Banner-Herald’s Marc Weiszer, White suffered a torn ACL in his left knee.

White tore his right ACL during high school last November, and he was just about to make it back to 100 percent when Saturday happened. White was covering a punt on special teams when he went down, Kirby Smart said Saturday.

It’s an awful twist to such a talented RB in White. He was ranked as the nation’s No. 1 RB in high school, and he’ll have to wait another year to make an impact for the Bulldogs.

The former 5-star back rushed for over 2,000 yards and 34 TDs as a senior.

Georgia will now lean more on D’Andre Swift, Elijah Holyfield, Brian Herrien and freshman James Cook in 2018.
