Kentucky assistant coach was furious with scorekeeper after win over Texas Tech
Kentucky needed overtime to do it, but still managed to escape Lubbock on Saturday night with a 76-74 victory over No. 18 Texas Tech.
The game wasn’t without some controversy, though, and it centered around the home team’s scorekeeper. Late in the second half, freshman G Tyrese Maxey was whistled for a foul, his fourth of the game. However, the Texas Tech scorekeeper ruled it was his fifth foul, disqualifying him from the game.
After a review, Maxey was reinstated, but Kentucky assistant coach John Robic still wasn’t happy, letting his anger carry over into the postgame handshake line:
I just saw the stunned scorekeeper screaming back at Robic, but a Texas Tech staffer in between us said it was, "You cheating MFer!" Robes from the top rope. https://t.co/9VXylzATzl

It could have been an honest mistake, as those things happen. Still, Robic was upset that such a call could have gone against Kentucky in such a key moment of the game.
The most important thing for Robic and head coach John Calipari, though, is that Kentucky managed to get the win.
