Louisville receives Notice of Allegations from the NCAA, Rick Pitino facing allegation
The NCAA is once again coming after Louisville’s basketball program.
Louisville has received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA on Monday, which includes a Level I allegation (the most serious violation), a Level II allegation against former head coach Rick Pitino (now the head coach of Iona), a Level II allegation for recruiting violations for two former Louisville assistant coaches and a Level II allegation against the school for failing to monitor the basketball program.
Louisville must now be given appropriate time to respond to all allegations listed above.
The NCAA is alleging that a $100,000 offer was made to get an unnamed prospect to play at Louisville, noting that Adidas was involved in the offer.
“Based on the information contained within the following allegations, the NCAA enforcement staff believes this case should be reviewed by a hearing panel of the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions pursuant to procedures applicable to a severe breach of conduct (Level I violation).”
