Dual-threat JUCO transfer QB Terry Wilson won Kentucky’s starting job over Gunnar Hoak this offseason, earning the nod against Central Michigan on Saturday.

However, Wilson struggled mightily early, committing three turnovers in the first half as the Chippewas took a 20-14 lead as halftime approached.

That prompted the Wildcats to switch to Hoak for the final drive of the half, and he didn’t disappoint. As you can see in the video below, he stood tall in the pocket, took a hit and still delivered a strike to his receiver for a touchdown:

Hoak has probably earned the right to finish the game against Central Michigan, which would likely reopen the quarterback battle at practice this week.

First things first, though — Kentucky needs to take care of business against the Chippewas.
