Shocker! Social media goes wild as No. 1 Kentucky basketball falls to Evansville

The month of November is already a rollercoaster for Kentucky basketball. The Wildcats started the 2019-20 campaign with a win over No. 1 Michigan State, which boosted UK to the new No. 1. The Cats won’t be staying there long, however, as Evansville came into Rupp Arena and won 67-64 on Tuesday night.

As you can imagine, the outcome has everybody talking. With it coming on the same night of the College Football Playoff selection committee rankings, there were a lot of jokes about John Calipari’s squad not making the Playoff. A Kentucky loss naturally gets the attention of observers of other SEC basketball programs, too. Here’s a small sample of what’s being said on social media right now:
