Ugonna Onyenso, a Kentucky freshman center, who appeared in 16 games this past season, has reportedly made plans for next season.

Jeff Borzello of ESPN reported that Onyenso has entered the transfer portal as the former top-30 recruit in the 2022 class will look for a change of scenery. Coming off the bench this past season, Onyenso averaged 2.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocked shot per game.

Some of his better games came when he scored 7 points, had 10 rebounds and a team-high 3 blocks in a win over North Florida. He scored 6 points and made 3 blocks in the win over South Carolina State, and also had a game-high 10 rebounds and added 9 points and 3 blocks in win over Duquesne. He blocked a game-high 4 shots to go along with 6 points and 4 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench against Howard.

The 6-foot-11 and 225-pounder is from Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria and played in high school at Putnam Science Academy/NBA Academy Africa.

Onyenso reclassified to the 2022 class, and was ranked as a top-25 prospect in the 2023 class by all of the major scouting services.
