A pair of former top-100 recruits appear to no longer be on the LSU football team. Brody Miller of The Athletic noted Thursday that linebackers Antoine Sampah and Phillip Webb are no longer listed on the Tigers’ online roster.

Miller shared on Twitter that program sources indicated neither departure is due to academic or discipline reasons. Both players dealt with injury issues.

Out of Woodbridge (Virginia), Sampah was the No. 6 inside linebacker and No. 97 prospect overall in the class of 2020 on the 247Sports Composite. He signed with LSU over scholarship offers from 25 other schools, including Alabama and Clemson.

Sampah played in 4 games in 2020 and 2 games last season. He did not record any other statistics.

Webb, out of Lanier High School in Georgia, was the No. 4 outside linebacker and No. 57 recruit overall in the class on the 247Sports Composite. He had 44 scholarship offers.

After not playing in 2020, Webb made 3 appearances last season. He recorded a tackle in LSU’s bowl game against Kansas State.
