The LSU Tigers won the title last season with a historic 15-0 record. But, now, they’ll try to rebound on the fly entering 2020.

Gone are co-OC Joe Brady, DC Dave Aranda, Heisman-winning QB Joe Burrow, RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, WR Justin Jefferson and a large number of key contributors from last year’s team.

So, how can the Tigers stay relevant in the national title picture? CBS analyst Aaron Murray broke it down on Tuesday:

“Most importantly, the way LSU rebounds is getting back to playing great defense,” Murray said. “This is the LSU we know — shut down teams, make it a low-scoring football game. Run the football. And no better guy on the outside to slow down an offense than Derek Stingley Jr., one of the best cornerbacks in the country right now. He’s going to do a great job against some of these spread offenses we now see in the SEC.”

Can the Tigers start strong and earn a trip back to the SEC Championship Game? We’ll find out this fall.
