Another LSU star has reportedly decided to opt out of the 2020 season
The LSU Tigers lost a ton of talent to the 2020 NFL Draft after winning last year’s national championship.
Then, this offseason, the Tigers have also been hit hard by players opting out amid concerns over COVID-19 and the ongoing pandemic.
On Sunday, star WR Ja’Marr Chase announced he was opting out of the 2020 season, and on Monday evening, Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger reported that star DT Tyler Shelvin was also opting out:
NEWS: #LSU DT Tyler Shelvin informed the coaching staff today that he plans to opt out of the 2020 season, sources told @SINow.
He's a redshirt junior and is eligible for the 2021 draft.

Shelvin has also gotten buzz as a potential Round 1 pick for the 2021 NFL Draft, like Chase.
Last year, Shelvin was also a starter on the LSU defensive line. He recorded 39 tackles (3 for a loss) and had 2 pass breakups. He was 1 of 5 returning starters on defense.
