Early Friday morning, LSU basketball player Wayde Sims was shot and killed near Southern University.

No arrest was made on Friday, but on Saturday morning, the Baton Rouge Police Department announced that a suspect was in custody.

According to police, Dyteon Simpson was charged with second-degree murder after being arrested without incident:

The tweets above say that Simpson has admitted his role in the murder, so it would seem that this will be an easy case for prosecutors.

Sadly, that won’t bring Sims back, but justice will seemingly be served. Prior to Saturday night’s LSU football game against Ole Miss, a moment of silence will be held to honor Sims.
