Brad Davis is excited to coach LSU’s bowl game as the interim coach, and called it a personal milestone moment.

Davis said he’s prepared for this for a long time, as the Tigers will play Kansas State in the Texas Bowl.

Davis, who played offensive line at Oklahoma, was the Tigers’ offensive line coach under Ed Orgeron.

โ€œIโ€™ve been preparing for this my whole life. Iโ€™m from North Baton Rouge,” he said. “Iโ€™m so proud to represent the people that I grew up with. Iโ€™m awfully proud to coach at LSU.โ€

Davis also shared his early impressions of new coach Brian Kelly, and they’re positive.

โ€œWeโ€™ve had a chance to meet. I hold him in high regard. Heโ€™s a winner. I have a great impression of him. I have high expectations and I think heโ€™s going to do phenomenal here.โ€
