Brian Kelly called out Malik Nabers for muffing two punts following LSU’s loss to Florida State Sunday.

“You evaluate him through four weeks of practice, and you feel comfortable that with his elite skillset and his mindset that he’s gonna be able to do a great job,” Kelly said. “And that wasn’t the case. That was a mistake that we made.”

Nabers, a sophomore wide receiver, muffed 2 punts in the 24-23 loss to Florida State Sunday, including one in the final 3 minutes of the fourth quarter.

LSU was able to overcome the 2 muffed punts, mounting a 99-yard final drive to score, but the Tigers’ extra point was blocked and the Seminoles hung on to win.

Nabers pulled in 28 receptions for 417 yards and 4 touchdowns last season.

Kelly, who joined the Tigers after 10 years at Notre Dame, will look for his first win with LSU on Saturday against Southern University.
