Brian Kelly knows the job is far from complete, but he’s pleased with the direction of where LSU is headed.

In an interview on “The Paul Finebaum Show,” Kelly said that the team has rallied around the new coaching staff in such a short time, thus helping them improve to 6-2 overall entering November.

“I’m really proud of the way they just have given everything to do the little things the right way,” Kelly said. “And that’s not easy making changes. Even at my age that’s difficult to do and for 18-21 year olds, it’s even more difficult. So I’m really proud of the way they’ve made the changes.”

Coming off its bye week, LSU is riding high on a 2-game win streak, including nabbing a top-10 win over Ole Miss. The emergence of young players such as linebacker Harold Perkins and safety Sage Ryan have benefitted the defense, but the offense has been the biggest storyline.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels has turned the corner at the right time entering the final month of action. In the past 2 games, he’s completed over 73% of his throws for 597 yards and 5 touchdowns. Daniels has also rushed for 165 yards and 6 touchdowns while averaging 4.2 yards per attempt.

The Tigers face their biggest test of the season when playing host to No. 6 Alabama this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. E.T. and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
