Brian Kelly is set to make a fortune as LSU’s next head coach. Earlier Monday, it was reported that LSU is hiring Kelly away from Notre Dame, although there’s been no official confirmation from the Tigers.

According to The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna and Brody Miller, LSU is giving Kelly a 10-year deal that will make him an enormous amount of money in Baton Rouge.

“LSU’s offer to Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is a 10-year deal that will take him north of $100 million with incentives, sources tell Brody Miller and me,” Fortuna tweeted.

CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd is reporting that Kelly will make around $15 million per year as LSU’s next head coach.

To put all of that into perspective, Alabama is paying Nick Saban a $9.753 million salary in 2021. Although Saban is making nearly $10 million and is the highest paid coach in the nation, he remains as the nation’s most underpaid coach due to his success.

Ed Orgeron was the nation’s second-highest paid coach making over $9 million per year.

Even if Dodd’s salary report is wrong and The Athletic’s compensation numbers are correct, Kelly is apparently still going to make more than Saban playing in the same division.
